- Consult the local chamber of commerce, museums, historical associations, and travel guides - to find suitable outdoor locations in your area.
- Ask all attendants and immediate family members if they have any allergies relating to the outdoors, and the season. Select a site accordingly.
- Arrange for necessary permits and rentals. Check out parking availability. Notify local police about traffic increase, need for public parking. Arrange for transportation by bus or "shuttle cars" from the nearest large parking area.
- Create an aisle trimmed with garlands of greens. Consult your florist for more ideas. If your dress has a train, spread out a canvas to protect it.
